The National Enquirer is picking up on Anthony Summer's idea that a certain Cuban national, Herminio Diaz, who worked for mob boss Santos Trafficante, was the Grassy Knoll shooter.

Whatever role the Mafia had was peripheral, but I have no opinion about Diaz, whom I've never heard of. But, Summers retains Oswald as 6th floor shooter:

"...the same people who hired Lee Harvey Oswald- whether it was the CIA, the Mafia, or Cubans opposed to Castro, also hired Diaz."

That is ridiculous. "Hired" means to be given a job to do for pay, for money. If Oswald had been paid, the money would have existed, or the trail of his spending it would have existed. And as everyone knows, Oswald had no money- certainly not an amount proportionate to murder for hire. Did Oswald do the job on credit? Kill now, get paid later?

But, as I've said, the whole notion that there was a conspiracy which involved Oswald as shooter is insane: he was not an assassin; he was not a killer: he wasn't even a marksman. The CIA and/or the Mafia could afford to get professional killers, which Oswald was not. You see, usually, when you've never done something in your life, you're not considered a professional. Oswald was not a professional. He barely passed his last marksmanship exam with the Marines, and that was 5 years earlier. And after that, he did very little shooting. He never ever at any time did the kind of shooting that was involved here. The notion that they (anybody) would put a gun in his hands and have him start shooting in the direction of Jackie and Nellie and others they didn't want dead is preposterous. It is insane. Oswald as shooter in a vast conspiracy is insane.

Why do people have to be so unthinking and stupid?
