Tonight, on Anderson Cooper's 360 on CNN, they had a segment on JFK, and it was awful. But, it was not the usual re-shoveling of the lone-nut myth. On the contrary, they went with the tact that Oswald didn't do it- ALONE. They started with Secretary of State John Kerry who said that he'll never be convinced that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone. Then, Anderson Cooper brought some others on, including "Tink" Thompson, who pushed the idea that Oswald must have been working for somebody, such as: the Rissians, the Cubans, or the Mafia.

Oh, they were so irate. They demanded that Russia release everything they have on Oswald from when he lived in Russia. And they demanded that our government release everything it has on Oswald's trip to Mexico, where he supposedly visited the Russian and Cuban embassies.

Well, Oswald never went to Mexico. Our own Mark Lane says he didn't. And another thing Mark Lane has said is that he was told directly, face to face, by David Atlee Phillips that Oswald never went to Mexico, and the CIA knows it.

As I said, the program was awful, and I mean painful to listen to. The message it kept sending over and over and over was: Oswald did it, Oswald did it, Oswald did it, Oswald did it.

They insisted that Oswald was put up to it by somebody, and Tink took the HSCA position that there was at least one other shooter on the Grassy Knoll. But, they really didn't hit that very hard. You'd think they'd be asking all kinds of questions about who that other shooter was and what happened to him afterwards, but they didn't go there.

But, the "air" of this program- its attitude- was strident and defiant, like these guys were re-setting the bar and doing something very brave and daring on mainstream television, like they were bucking the system, and defying the establishment. But, all the while, the message, again, was: Oswald did it, Oswald did it, Oswald did it.

Do you see now why proclaiming Oswald in the doorway is the best hope we have for JFK truth? Imagine if there was someone on that program who said,

"Sorry, fellas, you got it all wrong: Oswald didn't shoot Kennedy for anybody, not even himself, and that's because he didn't shoot Kennedy at all. He was standing in the doorway at the time of the murder. Look at these collages. That's Oswald in the doorway."

It would have rained on their parade, don't you think?

And the utter stupidity of what they were saying was really sickening. If the Russians or the Mafia wanted to kill Kennedy, why would they make Oswald the shooter?

I just learned tonight that The Mannlicher-Carcano was very different from the rifle Oswald used in the Marines. There, he used a rifle with a "loop-sling" configuration, but the M-C had a "carry-sling" configuration. We know of no instances in which Oswald fired the M-C prior to 11/22. Even the WC claimed that the rifle lay wrapped in a blanket for 8 weeks prior to the assassination. And prior to that, they knew of no times that he used it. There is no evidence that Oswald ever fired that kind of rifle IN HIS LIFE!

And likewise, Oswald had no experience whatsoever in shooting under the conditions that were involved with shooting at Kennedy from the 6th floor. For goodness sake, he practically failed in his last shooting exam in the Marines 5 years earlier. One point less, and he would have failed. And he did very little shooting over the 5 years that followed.

Who hires a guy like that to assassinate the President of the United States? Don't you think it mattered to them whether or not Jackie got killed? Didn't they want her alive and well and standing next to LBJ at the swearing in ceremony? For the important task of killing JFK, wouldn't they get a real professional? A real assassin? Why in God's name would they put a rifle in Oswald's hands and have him start shooting it?

And even though I heard the word "hired" used, no one said a word about Oswald being paid. What, did Oswald do it for free? Do they mean to suggest that the money trail could not be tracked?

It was an INSANE discussion by a trio of idiots, and the purpose of it was to coddle people, to give them the comfort of knowing that Anderson Cooper is siding with those who are standing up to the government and demanding real answers. But, all the while he was saying, "Oswald did it, Oswald did it, Oswald did it."
