Why did Lovelady draw his arrow so small?

For one thing, Joseph Ball told him to draw it in the dark, which limited his options, but I think there was more to it than that.

Lovelady knew that he wasn't giving Ball what he wanted. It was April 1964, so 5 months after the assassination. Don't you think it was drilled into him and everybody that Oswald was up on the 6th floor shooting at Kennedy and you better not doubt it?

Nevertheless, it was a point in time in which Lovelady just didn't want to lie. He knew he wasn't Doorman. And he knew he was Black Hole Man. And he was willing to communicate that to Joseph Ball. However, he knew he was upsetting the apple cart, and he didn't want to piss the man off any more than necessary. He knew that Joseph Ball did not want to a big behemoth arrow pointing to Black Hole Man. So, he drew his arrow as small as possible so that Ball would get the idea, but hopefully without being too incensed.

But, what about the tail that overlapped the flesh-colored forearm? Was that done by accident or on purpose? I don't know. Maybe there was a part of Billy that wanted to leave a visible and truthful mark on that photo- for posterity. And if he didn't do it consciously, maybe he did it subconsciously.

But ask yourself this: why didn't Joseph Ball identify the arrows? Why didn't he see to it that a name or initials accompanied each arrow?

Now, before you say that it's because they were both pointing to the same figure, I'll tell you that they weren't, and you can't claim it unless you find a second arrow pointing to Doorman. You can't pull stuff out your ass the way Backes does.

But, even if there were a second arrow pointing to Doorman- which there isn't- why wouldn't you identify each?

Wouldn't you want CE 367 to be self-explanatory? Let's say you didn't have the testimonies in front of you. And it's very unlikely that you would have both testimonies in front of you. So, why not have the photo show who drew the arrows no matter where they are pointing?  What would have hurt to put a WF over one and BL over the other? In the normal course of police work, wouldn't they have done that? Isn't it customary? But, this is all we got:

And be aware that for 50 years, a lot of people have discussed the big arrow that we see as if it were Lovelady's arrow. And notice that without any magnification, you can see still see the tail of Lovelady's arrow on the forearm of Black Hole Man perfectly well. It's there, as plain as day. And no bull shit excuse can make it go away or turn it into something else. It is the tail of Lovelady's arrow.

You know, if these people had any brains, they would have doctored that photo or even replaced it completely. How hard would it have been to duplicate Frazier's arrow on a fresh image? And if it didn't turn out well, they could have done it again. And again and again. Was there any limit? No. So, why didn't they? I'd say it was a combination of arrogance and stupidity. I bet you they wish they had now though. And I also bet you that they wish they had destroyed the Altgens photo.
