Here are three variations of DeNiro Lovelady from the Squad Room footage, but why does he look so different? It is definitely the same guy in the same place at the same time. Is it due to editing? EDITING? He reminds of those rubber toys that you can stretch into any shape you want.

What happened is that they made that phony film with that thick muscular guy on the left but then realized that he was way too big. He was way too big and muscular to be Lovelady, and he was particularly way too big and muscular to be a guy who could be mistaken for Oswald. Because remember, the whole idea was that he was a guy standing in the doorway that the world mistook for Lee Harvey Oswald.

So, they had to slim him down, and that's why they came up with this crap.

Why'd they go with such a big muscular guy? It's because they first time they did it, they went with a guy who was too scrawny to be Lovelady.

He was passable in build for Oswald but not for Lovelady, who was stocky at the time. Isn't that what Buell Frazier told us at the mock trial? Vince Bugliosi asked him Oswald and Lovelady looked alike, and Frazier said no, that Lovelady was a stocky and husky, but Oswald as a more slender individual. Kind of like these two guys:

So, it was a comedy of errors where they went back and forth between too stocky and too skinny, as they kept messing with his dimensions to get him right.

The whole thing is a laughing stock. Who do they think they're fooling? Do they think everyone has an 8 year old mind like Joseph Backes?
