Imagine if when people saw Oswald in the doorway of the Altgens photo that the authorities just said it wasn't him but didn't proffer anyone else. "We don't know who he is, but he isn't Oswald." 

How satisfying would that have been? Don't you think they realized that they HAD to proffer someone else, and that's why they came up with Lovelady? 

But with this other image, that's what exactly they're saying. "We don't know who he is, but he isn't Oswald." It's not very satisfying. Why is it any harder to identify this Doorman than the other one?  

If he's not Oswald, who is he?
