Her forearm is hanging over the edge of the car, in the sense that the tip of it- her fingers- are doing that.


Her fingers are beyond the window. They are obscured by the opaque molding of the window, so they must be beyond it. So, in that sense, the end of her left forearm is hanging over the side of the car. 

Meanwhile, JFK's right elbow is resting on the other side of the car. So, it establishes that there was a great difference in depth between them, and therefore a great difference in perspective to the camera. 

Yet, for some reason, on the right, her arms looms as large as his. 


How come?
