Backes, you stupid moron. I waited 19 days because I was waiting to see how far the Hays County Sheriff Department was going to go with it, and when they issued their report, and I spoke to the detective in charge, the decision was made, with his input, to call the Austin Police and get them involved. What difference does it make that 19 days were involved? Why do you have to be so stupid, Backes?

And regarding the Altgens' deaths, I don't say that I know for sure that there was foul play involved, but what I do say is that their deaths are suspicious.

1) The issue of gas poisoning wasn't mentioned in the first reports. It only came up later.

2) Natural gas is given a rotten egg smell by way of a sulfur additive precisely to make occupants aware of leaks. Supposedly, several days had passed, and each of them had died in separate rooms. But, the buildup over that much time would surely have affected the first person who entered the house and found them. Entering a house from the fresh air of the outdoors, especially in December when it's crisp, and not detecting anything in the air when two people had perished in the gas-filled house? So, why wasn't gas reported immediately?

3) The issue of their general health is questioned by the simple fact that they BOTH died. If it had been only one, fine. But, it was both. And being in their early to mid 70s hardly constitutes a presumed dying-of-natural-causes age. But, the mathematical likelihood of two people of their ages dying at the same time from natural causes is infinitesimal.

4) When the gas leaks were first reported, it was said that further reports would follow, but they never came.

5) When the gas leaks were first reported, it said that autopsies would be performed and reported, but we never got the autopsy results.

6) Most gas leaks that kill Americans kill poor Americans. That's because it's the poor who live in under-maintained dwellings which don't get the regular service and attention and replacements and upgrades when needed. But, the Altgens were rich, and they were retired. You know Ike wasn't going out and lighting his own pilot light. He lived in a posh neighborhood in Dallas. You know that a service company was in charge of maintaining and servicing his system, and making sure it was safe. So, with an old couple dead, why didn't the Dallas Police find out which company was responsible? Gas leaks are not an act of God. And wouldn't it be better to identify a negligent company right away rather than wait for more people to die? But, we never heard a word about that either.

7) I never said the ARRB was like a second HSCA. I knew that was not the case, and I never said it was. How dare you presume to know what my understanding is of the ARRB?

8) This is from History Matters: "The ARRB got underway in 1994 and remained in existence until the Fall of 1998."

Here is the link to that statement: http://www.history-matters.com/archive/jfk/arrb/contents.htm

James Altgens died on December 12, 1995, so it was during the ARRB.

You're stupid, Backes. You were born stupid, and you're going to stay that way. And you are NEVER going to speak again at ANY JFK conference. I'll see to that. You're through.
