Harold Weisberg was a man of integrity, and he spent years championing that Lovelady wore a short-sleeved striped shirt, and he said it repeatedly in the manuscript.

At any time, did Harold Weisberg say,

"It looks like I've been wrong all these years. It turns out that Lovelady really did wear a plaid shirt, and I know that now. So, I want to apologize to the FBI for accusing them of lying about this. And I want to apologize to Lovelady himself. And, I want to retract everything I said about it in my books. I was wrong; repeatedly wrong. And now I am owning up to it."

No! He never said that. He went to his grave saying that Lovelady wore a short-sleeved striped shirt. Weisberg didn't change a thing.

And it's true that the photos that Groden took of Lovelady were "staged" but that doesn't even need stating. Obviously, they weren't spontaneous pictures. But supposedly, the film of Gorilla Man was. But, it wasn't.

Notice how knowledgeable Weisberg was of Lovelady's testimony. He knew what he said and what he didn't say. And he had to know that Lovelady said that he left the entrance right away and never to return. By the time the police had a checkpoint set up in front, controlling ingress and egress, Lovelady was INSIDE. No way was he still milling around out in front by that point in time. He was inside guarding the freight elevator with Shelley.

And speaking of Shelley, why don't we see him in the Martin film?

So, what exactly is the story here? That Lovelady had been grouped with Bill Shelley and Sarah Stanton and Buell Frazier but then wound up remaining out in front alone, ie, without his friends? They all split, but he stuck around? What for? He worked there. Remember? The employees were inside by that point.

Harold Weisberg NEVER conceded anything. He never conceded that that guy was really Lovelady. His point was that, the guy they were CLAIMING to be Lovelady could not possibly be Doorman regardless of who he was.

Harold Weisberg went to his grave declaring that Lovelady wore a short-sleeved striped shirt on 11/22/63. And this was it:
