What's going on at the front of that shirt? Is it a regular shirt with a tail that is tucked in front but not in back? 

I don't think so. For one thing, the transition from "tucked" to "untucked" is a little too sudden, as in the tail appearing at a 90 degree angle to the tuck. It doesn't work that way in real life. It's much sloppier than that in real life. But also, it doesn't look like we're seeing the top of his pants below the tuck. I don't see any signs of a belt, do you? He'd wear one to work, wouldn't he?

Yup. That's what it looks like to me. So, what's the tail? I don't know. Maybe it is something they added precisely to deceive and distract from making the identification of Lovelady. If so, it didn't work.
