Just because somebody said that Lovelady was there in the doorway does not mean that he identified Lovelady as the Doorway Man.

Lovelady definitely was there in the doorway. That is beyond doubt. Nobody ever claimed otherwise. The question is: Was he the Doorway Man in the Altgens photo?

So, I realize that you can get to 7 if you include all those people that the guy from 22 November 1963 included.  But, it doesn't count. What we're talking about are not the set of people who identified Lovelady as being in the doorway but as the figure known as Doorway Man in the Altgens photo. It means they had to have been shown the Altgens photo.

So, I have a feeling that is just another case of Backesonian stupidity. There's a lot of it going around.

Backes: focus! It's only people who were shown the Altgens photo and who ID'd Doorman as Lovelady. Repeat:  It's only people who were shown the Altgens photo and who ID'd Doorman as Lovelady. Repeat again: It's only people who were shown the Altgens photo and who ID'd Doorman as Lovelady.
