Here is my song for April, and it's very special to me because, for the first time, I have an accompanist. My good friend Paul Popa is visiting, and he heard me practicing the song, and he offered to join in on guitar. And Paul happens to be a very accomplished jazz/blues/rock guitarist; he is leagues better than I am; he is a real musician.

The song is Help The Poor by Charles Singleton, which was written for B.B. King and first recorded by him in 1964. In 2000, it was recorded by Eric Clapton and B.B. King for their first collaborative album, Riding With The King, and it received very wide acclaim. But, what makes our version unique is that Paul gave his accompaniment a Spanish flamenco twist. So, this is an unusual rendering of the song, which Paul played masterfully. And it was very special for me to do it with him.

So, here is Help the Poor with Yours Truly on piano and vocals and Paul Popa on guitar.
